Dash 021 - Share Your Faith
Psalm 105:1 (NIV)
The Bible Says... “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done”.
Just a Dash
I once had an office manager who was repossessing old office supplies that were either collecting dust in vacant cubicles or being used by people they weren’t specifically purchased for. When someone finally questioned why she was collecting these old supplies rather than allowing them to continue to be used, she said that she was collecting everything that wasn’t being used by the person it was originally ordered for. This puzzled me, because the people these supplies had been specifically purchased for no longer worked for the company anyway. I thought it was such a waste that these supplies were going to be hoarded in storage rather than being used.
A Pinch More
Many of us treat our faith the same way. We hoard it or wait for just the right person or just the right opportunity to share it. We don’t share our testimonies, our Christian experiences, or what we’ve learned. We store the intimate details of our faith for ourselves unless someone asks or it comes up in casual conversation. We sit on these jewels and let these experiences collect dust in the closets of our minds.
In Psalm 105:1, David encourages us to praise the Lord and let others know about the work that the Lord is doing in our lives! We should consistently seek out opportunities to share the word and the work of the Lord with others. At some point, someone had to share the knowledge of Christ with you, and it’s our duty to pay if forward.
In the same way it is wasteful to hoard material things, it is wasteful to hoard the details of our faith. Think of all the ways that your testimony or Christian experiences can impact someone who may be facing the same challenges that God has brought you through! This week, I challenge you to share your faith with someone. If you’re not sure where to start or what to share, I’ve included a list of ideas at the end of this email to get you started!
Q: When was the last time you shared the details of your Christian experience with someone?
Q: Why have you been hoarding the details of your Christian experience?
Q: How is God leading you to share Christ with others?
